According to the center, children are relatively frequently abducted in Türkiye and Poland. Additionally, according to the center, many parents often do not realize that they are guilty of kidnapping. That is why the Turkish singer Zehra Gülüç and the Polish-Dutch rapper Tomasz have recorded a song and a video clip to draw attention to this issue.
Last year, 260 children were kidnapped to and from the Netherlands, according to IKO figures. In 77 percent, the mother is the one who kidnaps the child. Almost half of the children are five years old or younger when they are kidnapped.
