Volvo is recalling almost all 72,000 electric cars of the EX30 model due to a possible software error. This was reported by the Swedish company on Monday. Due to the software bug, the trucks’ speedometers would go into test mode when starting the engine. According to the RDW license plate register, more than 4,600 Volvo EX30 models are registered in the Netherlands. Last month more than a thousand were sold. To resolve the error, a software update is required which can be done remotely.
It is not the first time that Volvo has had to deal with software problems in its cars. Last year, the launch of the EX90, a larger pickup truck, had to be postponed due to similar problems.
