South African President Ramaphosa re-elected and continues with broad coalition

As expected, the South African parliament has re-elected President Cyril Ramaphosa as head of state by a large majority. The president of the African National Congress (ANC) also received wide support outside his own ANC, which has 159 of the 400 seats. Ramaphosa received 283 votes, while his opponent Julius Malema of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) received 44 votes.
