Visitors were able to visit 154 construction projects, including a high-voltage substation in Zevenhuizen, a swimming pool in Drachten and the main station in Groningen. In Kampen it was possible to take a walk along the bottom of a new lock and in The Hague there was a visit to the Binnenhof, currently undergoing renovation works.
With 8,000 visitors, the great focus of attention was the construction work of the new A16 motorway in Rotterdam. The Rottemeren tunnel and the viaduct over Terbregseplein were opened for the occasion. This year was the last time this project participated in Construction Day. The new 11-kilometer stretch of motorway near Rotterdam should be completed in 2025.
