A 35-year-old man from Alkmaar died in an accident on the A9 on the night of Friday to Saturday. He collided with a truck near Heiloo at around 2.30am, a police spokeswoman said. Emergency services tried to help him, but the victim died instantly from his injuries.
Police closed the A9 from Amsterdam to Alkmaar near Heiloo for much of the night to investigate. It is still unclear how the accident could have happened.
