Trump’s Facebook and Instagram restrictions are lifted

With this step, Meta wants to offer presidential candidate Trump a level playing field in the run-up to this year’s election. Trump’s accounts were suspended following the violent assault on the US parliament in early 2021, but were reopened early last year. Since then, Trump’s accounts have been subject to stricter sanctions than those of other Meta users if they violate the company’s rules.

Trump responded to his suspensions with his own social media platform, Truth Social. X (Twitter) was once the former president’s main focus, but that also got him banned. After being reinstated, he only posted once, according to Axios.
