CDMX Congress supports Energy Reform

With 39 votes in favor, 17 votes against, and no abstentions Mexico City Congress in his character Permanent Constituentapprove the minutes sent by Republican Senate about update constitutional in matters energy.

“This Congress has considered and debated this important matter regarding the energy sovereignty of the State of Mexico and we have approved this constitutional reform,” said the president of the board of directors, Martha Avila.

In this regard, he assured that the reform will enable transcendental changes in the energy sector, with the aim of strengthening state regulation of the electricity system and strategic companies.

Thus, the local congress stated that it approved the minutes of the draft decision on the fifth paragraph of the reform article 25sixth and seventh paragraphs article 27 and the fourth paragraph of article 28 United States political constitution regarding strategic regions and enterprises.

Once approved in the local Congress, the minutes will be sent to the Senate and Chamber of Deputies from Union Congressfor appropriate constitutional and legal impact.
