Ciudad Juárez.- The best thing that could happen to Bravos is to play their away games, because at home the border team does not know how to win, and this Saturday evening they suffered a fourth defeat in ‘Benito Juárez’ when they lost to León 3-2 in a match on Matchday 12 Apertura 2024 Liga MX.

Bravos managed to score in the 14th minute and they went into the halftime break, but in the second half they managed to turn the score around through goals from Colombia’s Óscar Estupiñán and José Manríquez.

Five minutes into the second half, on a throw-in from the right Estupiñán received the ball inside the penalty area, directed it one meter away and shot with his left foot to beat goalkeeper Alfonso Blanco.

Manríquez’s goal came in the 63rd minute via a corner kick taken by Brazilian Guilherme Castilho from the left side and finished by the Bravos defender with a header.

Bravos played better and was already ahead on the scoreboard, but mistakes in defense allowed Panzas Verdes to equalize the score in the 67th minute.

In a collection of fouls in favor of the visitors, the ball was sent to the heart of the penalty area, Manríquez rejected it and the ball reached the domain of John Mendoza, who was alone outside the wide area and from there he finished with his first intention sending a segment into the back of Benny Díaz’s goal.

The monster’s winning goal came in the 97th minute through Mauricio Isais, who finished inside the box to beat Díaz from underneath.

With this defeat, the Braves only have 10 points and dropped to 14th in the overall standings.

The border force, led by Brazil’s Mauricio Barbieri, will visit the Cruz Azul leader next Wednesday.
