Vedang Raina and Alia Bhatt Jigra released in theaters on October 11. Recently, the actor opened up about the emotional whipping scene. The actor who was appreciated for his performance, said, “The whipping scene was tricky, but Vasan Bala sir gave me some very good advice right before the scene, which made my approach clearer. It’s still very difficult to think about it. I’m glad there is appreciation for that scene.”
He also talked about how transformative the whole thing was Jigra experience has become his own. He said, “Jigra changed my life even before its release. I am grateful to be a part of this project and to work alongside some really great people. I feel blessed to be in this position so early in my career and at such a young age.”
Jigra facing competition from That’s Vicky and Vidya’s videoo, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, which opened with Rs 5 crore and has around 3,500 shows, giving it a slight edge over Alia’s film. Notably, Jigra is Alia’s only film releasing in 2024. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film tells the story of a sister who tries her best to protect her brother.
On the work front, Vedang Raina made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar Archi. This film also stars Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and others.
Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, has Sanjay Leela Bhansali Love & War in the cast, where she will star alongside husband Ranbir Kapoor and Razi co-star Vicky Kaushal. He will also be seen in Alpha, co-starring Sharvari. The film will be released on December 25, 2025.
