The Houthi movement said on Sunday that rockets had been fired again at the Israeli port city of Eilat. Israeli forces said a rocket from Yemen was shot down there.
In civil war-torn Yemen, the Houthis in the north have overrun large parts of the country, including the western coast and the capital, Sanaa, which has been outside the control of Yemen’s internationally recognized government for a decade. The Houthis are supported by Iran. According to the Houthis, missile and drone attacks on ships in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea and attacks on Israel are carried out in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
