Commander Dan demands the reconstruction of bridges on the Autaz-Mirim and Curuçá rivers

State deputy Comandante Dan (Podemos) led the third caravan of the movement “Soluciona BR-319” and noted the absence of work on the bridges on the Autaz-Mirim and Curuçá rivers.

During the technical visit, Commander Dan and his team checked the progress of the temporary bridge work promised by the Department of National Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) for the coming weeks. However, when they arrived at the location, they found no signs of work.

A delegation consisting of the Public Security Commission (CSP) of the Amazonas Legislative Assembly (Aleam) and a technical team from the deputy’s office visited the São Sebastião Community located in Igapó-Açu and the ruins of the bridge.

According to the deputy, the exit from Porto Ceasa, which is important for the flow towards Porto Velho and Cuiabá, is still problematic.

“We found that although the queues were not too big, they still occurred due to a lack of operational capacity. On weekends, movement is very busy and ferries must operate to avoid such queues”, he commented.

In relation to Porto Ceasa, the MP emphasized that improvements alone are not enough: “On the one hand, conditions are improving, but on the other hand they are getting worse. “There is no effective solution yet for people who need these services,” he added.

Technical visit

During the technical visit, Commander Dan and his team checked the progress of the temporary bridge work promised by the Department of National Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) for the coming weeks.

However, when they arrived at the location, they found no signs of work. “What we saw were just ruins, ghost works, nothing operational,” he said.

In the Community of São Sebastião, deputies met with local representatives and identified several inconsistencies in basic services, such as education and health.

“Citizens’ basic rights are not being fulfilled. There is no water and classes have been stopped due to lack of structure in the community schools,” he explained.

Delivery deadline

The regional supervisor of the Department of National Transport Infrastructure (Dnit), Orlando Machado, stated that the Curuçá and Autaz-Mirim bridges, which collapsed in 2022, should be completed in October this year. This statement appeared at a hearing in Aleam, on March 12 this year.
