According to the White House, Biden is only showing mild symptoms of Covid. He suffered from a runny nose and a dry cough in the afternoon, after which he tested positive for the virus. He will now head to his home state of Delaware, where he will “continue to perform his duties in isolation,” the White House said.
The 81-year-old president has been vaccinated against Covid and has also received all available booster shots of the vaccine.
Biden’s appearance at the Democratic Convention in Chicago does not appear to be in jeopardy. That party conference does not begin until August 19.
